Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in building construction, facility maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or a related trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use maintenance management systems and mobile technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of general construction methods, maintenance practices, and applicable safety standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds safely.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, stretch, climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental and weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel locally and overnight as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or certification in Building Maintenance or a related trade.
  • Knowledge of local building codes.
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • HVAC, electrical, or related trade certifications.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance based on contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic construction, renovation, preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and repair activities for commercial, industrial, and aerospace facilities.
  • Support building operations by maintaining plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building systems.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations, industry standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Work closely with management, team members, and client representatives to deliver quality results and maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Frame drywall, hang doors, install windows, and perform demolition work for renovation projects.
  • Prepare surfaces and perform painting-related repairs and finishing work.
  • Perform spot welding and basic fabrication of fixtures, cabinets, benches, and related structures.
  • Repair office furniture and furniture panel systems as needed.
  • Support construction cleanup activities and maintain work areas free of debris.
  • Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout/Tagout procedures, Arc Flash protection, and other required safety measures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Understand and comply with applicable building codes and facility requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client representatives through professionalism, responsiveness, and quality service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members to address maintenance and construction needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete construction, maintenance, painting, and relocation projects.
  • Report incidents, equipment concerns, and safety issues promptly and accurately.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance systems, work order systems, and mobile technology to track and document completed work.
  • Safely operate power tools, hand tools, equipment, and company vehicles when authorized.
