This position will coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support build strategy and key event schedules. The role involves managing the Unit Outfitting Hall, project expectations with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met, and that work is performed as scheduled within contract specifications. The Construction Supervisor will identify and expedite the resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, or other problems that could risk the accomplishment of critical path work. They will liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance within AOR, including determining overtime requirements and identifying/managing cost drivers. The role also involves assessing all growth work and/or contract funded point changes to ensure funding is authorized and work is integrated and achievable within schedule, identifying impacts and potential risks, and devising contingency plans. Responsibilities include performing various inspections such as preliminary structural inspections, tank/void inspections, yard final inspections, inspections to support the release of concealing materials, compartment and system turnover inspections, and test inspections. The Construction Supervisor will document discrepancies and issue them for corrections, assess safety risks within AOR, and develop mitigation plans. This position will support the delivery team in the final stages of delivery as the Aft End Lead and Fwd/whole ship Deputy, and lead improvements to the upstream hull(s) for final assembly and test success.
