About The Position

RJS Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for a government project for the Bureau of Indian Education, from groundbreaking through project closeout. The role focuses on ground-up commercial construction and requires a strong commitment to safety and effective leadership. RJS Construction is a Woman- and Native American-owned General Contractor that provides commercial construction services to federal and municipal government agencies across the West.

The Superintendent manages on-site construction activities, maintains the master schedule and three-week look-ahead schedules, leads progress meetings, and serves as the primary on-site contact for project stakeholders. The role also includes enforcing company and federal safety programs and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and quality standards. Frequent travel to regional project sites is required.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent.
• Ground-up building experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to regional project sites.
• Ability to navigate active jobsites, stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with federal agency construction, such as BIE, BIA, USACE, NAVFAC, or GSA.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site construction activities for ground-up facilities from site preparation through completion.
• Maintain and enforce the master project schedule and develop and update three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Lead weekly progress meetings and serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, owner’s representatives, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
• Enforce company and federal safety programs and organize, schedule, and conduct mandatory weekly safety meetings.
• Conduct continuous jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
