About The Position

The Construction Superintendent for LBA Construction, LLC, a subsidiary of LBA Hospitality, oversees day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects from mobilization through project completion and closeout. This position coordinates subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspectors, and project management personnel; manages field schedules; maintains quality and safety standards; interprets construction documents; and helps ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and contract requirements. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on construction knowledge and the ability to coordinate all major phases of construction, from site development and foundations through framing, building systems, finishes, and final turnover.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of construction field experience, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising construction projects and coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings, specifications, and related construction documents.
  • Ability to identify construction deficiencies, field conflicts, and schedule risks and develop or coordinate appropriate corrective action.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, inspection requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and coordinate closely with the Project Manager and company leadership.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to assigned project locations as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, email, and electronic project records.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use company-designated project management, scheduling, document-control, collaboration, and mobile construction applications.
  • Ability to prepare accurate daily reports, photographs, logs, schedules, and other project documentation in a timely manner.
  • Walking construction sites and standing for extended periods.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding as necessary to inspect work.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, and navigating uneven or unfinished surfaces throughout the workday.
  • Working outdoors and in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
  • Visually inspecting construction work, materials, installations, and details.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment and complying with site-specific safety requirements.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required when driving is an essential function of the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily construction activities from mobilization through project completion and closeout.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspectors, and project management personnel.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules; monitor progress, manpower, productivity, sequencing, inspections, deliveries, and scheduled milestones.
  • Conduct coordination and subcontractor meetings as needed and communicate field priorities, constraints, and expectations.
  • Verify work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Identify potential problems, conflicts, deficiencies, or delays early and work with the Project Manager to develop practical solutions and recovery plans.
  • Maintain daily construction reports, photographs, schedules, logs, and other required electronic project documentation.
  • Coordinate inspections, required testing, punch lists, warranty documentation, project closeout, and turnover.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe construction site.
  • Inspect work before it is covered or concealed and verify materials and installations conform to plans and specifications.
  • Identify defective, incomplete, or nonconforming work and require timely correction.
  • Maintain ongoing punch lists throughout the project rather than waiting until final completion.
  • Protect completed work from damage by subsequent trades.
  • Verify critical dimensions, elevations, reinforcing steel, embeds, sleeves, anchor bolts, structural connections, rated assemblies, penetrations, and other project-specific requirements before work proceeds.
  • Coordinate MEP, framing, ceiling, wall, architectural finish, firestopping, and specialty-item installation to prevent conflicts and rework.
  • Observe jobsite safety conditions daily and enforce company, project-specific, and applicable OSHA safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors regarding safety expectations and promptly correct or escalate unsafe conditions.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when an imminent or serious unsafe condition exists and immediately notify appropriate project/company leadership.
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, incident reviews, and required safety documentation.
  • Ensure required personal protective equipment is used and site safety rules are consistently followed.
  • Work independently while maintaining close coordination with the Project Manager and company leadership.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Set clear field expectations, address performance or coordination concerns promptly, and support accountability among project participants.
  • Use sound judgment, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Escalate significant schedule, quality, safety, contractual, or personnel concerns to the appropriate company representative.
