About The Position

The Construction Superintendent oversees all construction project activities, coordinating with trade supervisors to ensure safety and adherence to project plans, specifications, budget, and schedule. This role involves creating project documentation, managing schedules, monitoring progress, and serving as the primary onsite point of contact. The Superintendent is responsible for leading inspections, managing RFIs, coordinating trade activities, ensuring quality control, and promoting a safe and organized jobsite. Travel to project sites and corporate headquarters is required to support business operations and project management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education level.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in commercial construction or completion of an approved technical training program.
  • Tenant Improvement (T.I.) experience, required.
  • Previous experience leading projects, required.
  • OSHA 10 certification required, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and ability to maintain required automobile insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Manager experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all construction project activities and coordinates with trade supervisors to administer good construction safety practices.
  • Ensures construction trades understand their scope and code requirements.
  • Ensures adherence to construction project plans, specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Creates phase and final project punch lists and ensures completion within the project schedule.
  • Prepares construction management plan (CMP) and 3-week look ahead schedules.
  • Monitors construction progress to identify potential delays and implements mitigation strategies.
  • Creates and issues daily project reports.
  • Serves as the primary onsite project point of contact and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Schedules and leads all necessary inspections.
  • Creates and submits RFIs to Project Management for responses.
  • Reviews project concerns with trades, including RFIs, schedule, phasing, and site logistics.
  • Schedules and leads trade activities, coordinates quality inspections, and measures quality assurance/control.
  • Conducts regular project inspections to ensure design intent, specifications, accurate dimensions, and quality workmanship are met.
  • Conducts regular project progress meetings, daily trade specific meetings, and daily project huddles.
  • Assesses and partners with trade leaders to ensure job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies hazards.
  • Ensures project tasks and trades adhere to Company Safety Policies and reports discrepancies.
  • Promotes maintenance of an organized jobsite, ensures proper laydown area utilization, and follows end-of-day procedures.
  • Travels to project sites, satellite locations, stores, and other locations to support business operations.
  • Travels to corporate headquarters as required.
  • Coordinates and leads all onsite communication and reports to management.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require.
