About The Position

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating on‑site construction in multi-family units to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to quality standards. This role serves as the on‑site leader, directing subcontractors, labor crews, and field staff while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project plans, and company policies. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager to maintain productivity, resolve field issues, and promote a safe and efficient job-site environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of superintendent or field supervision experience in commercial, multi‑family, restoration, or general construction preferred.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, means and methods, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in basic technology (email, mobile apps, daily reporting software).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily on‑site construction and restoration activities, ensuring work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary on‑site authority, directing subcontractors, labor crews, and field personnel to maintain efficient workflow and high productivity.
  • Maintain readiness to respond to job sites with minimal notice; capable of traveling for extended periods of time and working away from the home office as required.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work sequencing to avoid conflicts, delays, or rework.
  • Enforce strict adherence to OSHA, site‑specific safety plans, and company safety policies; lead daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and jobsite inspections.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure compliance with contract documents, building codes, and company quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve field issues including schedule impacts, manpower concerns, material shortages, and technical challenges in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and equipment usage to ensure uninterrupted progress.
  • Maintain daily reports, field logs, safety documentation, and progress photos.
  • Communicate daily jobsite status, schedule impacts, and issues to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in project closeout including punch lists, inspections, and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times.
