About The Position

Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Superintendent for a project in Carlsbad, NM. Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. This position is responsible for overseeing field execution of Logistics pipeline projects ensuring work is conducted in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. Responsible for monitoring the overall construction work for all assigned projects. This includes updating project schedules, managing labor costs, coordinating subcontractor and self-perform work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience gas gathering, pipeline operations or pipeline construction required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of pipeline construction, repair, and maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) at a professional level.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
  • Performing quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Coordinating required inspections with local jurisdictions
  • Identifying subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards
  • Identifying conflicts in construction progress and communicating them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintaining daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite
  • Performing Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously
  • Ensuring subcontracting has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team
  • Walking all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning
  • Prepares and/or validates capital cost estimates.
  • Works with engineering on pre-project planning (site plans, piping layout, etc.)
  • Coordinates procurement of materials for projects.
  • Plans and arranges for contract crews (construction, x-ray, inspection).
  • Performs bid walks with contractors.
  • Assists with the writing of contracts and/or work orders.
  • Inspects the work of company and contract personnel to ensure compliance with company standards, government regulations, and job specifications.
  • Provides a lead role to ensure that both company and contractor manpower is being used efficiently.
  • Maintains work order status log summaries/database and provide equipment/pipeline repair histories.
  • Completes daily construction status reports.
  • Communicates and interacts with producers, property owners, tenants, manufacturer’s representatives and suppliers, as well as other employees and members of the public.
  • May be involved in responding to emergency (same day) maintenance jobs so will require reallocating and adjusting priorities.
