Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a journeyman in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures using blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
  • Pass a background check, including drug test.
  • Experience using hand tools, small power tools, shop machines, and heavy equipment.
  • Experience inspecting installation sites.
  • Experience studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Experience reading contract drawings.
  • Experience installing and mounting electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components.
  • Experience installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, wiring, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment following drawings of electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Ability to perform interlock wiring as required.
  • Experience testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices.
  • Ability to appropriately diagnose malfunctions in systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and take appropriate steps to correct the problem.
  • Ability to instruct and train workers to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Has a clear understanding of the latest edition of the NEC.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating all the workings at a job site including that of a crew of electricians, apprentices, and laborers.
  • Establishing and adjusting work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project.
  • Organizing and coordinating all project materials and equipment.
  • Ensuring that all work installed is completed following the standards set forth by the supervisor, on budget, on time, and following all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Managing and overseeing all efforts of employees, subcontractors, quality inspection activities of inspectors, craft supervisors and specialists on the job site throughout all phases of construction.
  • Monitoring compliance with building, quality, and safety regulations.
  • Serving as the onsite Safety Director by ensuring safety compliance policies, procedures and methods are upheld.
  • Performing continuous surveillance of all craft discipline to assure a high-quality standard of workmanship and conformance with approved engineering drawings, specifications, applicable code, and best in class construction practices.
  • Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques to ensure staff and subcontractors comply with quality and control standards.
  • Overseeing completion of walk-through items.
  • Participating in design review meetings and providing necessary feedback during the proposal process.
  • Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Selecting tools, materials, equipment, and tracking inventory.
  • Meeting contractual conditions of performance and reporting deviations.
  • Reviewing work progress daily and preparing internal and external reporting on job status.
  • Negotiating terms of agreements and obtaining permits and licenses to conform to the production schedule.
  • Analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks by adjusting personnel and equipment resources as needed to resolve construction problems and to avoid delays.
  • Planning to prevent problems and resolving any emerging ones.
  • Resolving issues and complaints.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned at the direction of the Company’s management.
