Construction Superintendent
About The Position
BDI Marine Contractors is a growing, family-owned marine construction company specializing in marine and heavy civil construction. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a hands-on Superintendent to help lead our field operations and keep projects running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The Superintendent is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations on construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and materials while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in construction
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for projects if needed
Nice To Haves
- Marine experience (docks, seawalls, pile driving)
- Heavy equipment operation
- Working around water and barges
Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to completion
- Manage and supervise field crews and subcontractors
- Coordinate schedules, deliveries, and equipment
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Conduct daily reports, job logs, and progress tracking
- Communicate regularly with project managers and office staff
- Identify and resolve issues in the field quickly and efficiently
- Maintain quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
