About The Position
This internship opportunity is designed for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, real-time problem-solving, and witnessing projects come to fruition in the field. Interns will learn how construction projects are built from the ground up while collaborating with experienced field leaders. Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
- Driver's License
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethics
Nice To Haves
- Previous Co-op or intern experience in construction
- GPA 3.0 or higher
Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to daily job site activities from site mobilization through project completion.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, job site inspections, and learn to promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and monitoring progress to keep projects on schedule.
- Observe and support quality inspections to ensure work meets project plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Work with Superintendents and subcontractors to understand sequencing, resolve field issues, and maintain productive workflows.
- Assist with documenting daily job site activities, taking progress photos, and preparing daily reports.
- Attend subcontractor coordination meetings, owner walkthroughs, and project planning discussions.
- Become familiar with construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings and their application in the field.
- Conduct site walks with experienced Superintendents to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and verify work is performed safely and correctly.
- Participate in offsite trainings and biweekly learning sessions.
- Partner with Project Managers and field teams to understand the collaboration between office and field operations.
