IREN is currently looking for a Construction Superintendent – Civil to join our Childress, TX team. Joining our construction crew, the right candidate will demonstrate leadership skills. We are looking for a candidate with strong Civil Supervisor experience and a positive attitude. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3 years as a superintendent on industrial projects (e.g., oil & gas, power plants, or heavy industrial).
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, including concrete, grading, paving, and underground utilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project, MS Office Suite)
  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.

  • bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily civil construction activities including earthworks, concrete, structural steel, and site utilities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedule and specifications.
  • Monitor and mentor subcontractors ensuring productivity and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety standards, conducting regular inspections and toolbox talks to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Monitor work progress and quality, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Address deficiencies promptly. Ensure duties are performed safely and in compliance with all Company, Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with construction managers, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, provide progress updates, and align on project goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders to track progress and support project reporting.
  • Identify and resolve on-site challenges such as weather delays, design conflicts, or labor shortages to keep the project on track.
