About The Position

Vivmark Residential is hiring a Construction Intern for its New Construction team. The internship will take place at one or more construction projects in Vivmark Construction markets and provides hands-on experience in construction management for multifamily apartment communities. Interns may gain exposure to site and concrete work, framing, rough mechanicals, finishes, budgeting, and scheduling. They will collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Subcontractors, Lead Engineers, and Architects, and learn how changes, clarifications, directives, and RFIs are updated and coordinated in real time to maintain efficient schedules. All Construction Interns also participate in a Summer Learning Series led by Vivmark Construction leaders, offering opportunities to meet leaders, learn about construction-industry roles, and understand Vivmark's construction processes. Interns will also learn about Vivmark's Incident and Injury-Free Workplace safety culture, recognizing and reinforcing safe practices, and applicable safety laws and regulations. The position is based at construction projects in Vivmark Construction markets. The posting lists Austin, Texas, as the city and gives a weekly schedule of 40 hours. The stated total base pay range is $46,800 to $57,200.

Requirements

Be enrolled in an undergraduate Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program.
Have proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
Have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Have strong math comprehension and calculation skills.
Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills quickly and curiosity about the construction process and industry.
Have strong time-management and organizational skills.
Show a bias for action and eagerness to see tasks through to completion.
Have strong attention to detail.
Want to expand and apply academic construction-management knowledge to real-world situations and gain exposure to new areas of the business.

Responsibilities
