About The Position

Vivmark Residential is hiring a Construction Intern to join its New Construction team. The internship will take place at one or more construction projects in Vivmark Construction markets and provides hands-on experience in the construction management of multifamily apartment communities over the summer. Interns will gain exposure to construction stages and activities such as site and concrete work, framing, rough mechanicals, finishes, budgeting, and scheduling. They will collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Subcontractors, Lead Engineers, and Architects, and learn how changes, clarifications, directives, and RFIs are updated and coordinated with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain efficient schedules. Construction Interns also participate in a Summer Learning Series led by Vivmark Construction leaders, providing opportunities to meet leaders and learn about other construction roles and Vivmark's construction processes. The intern will learn about the company's Incident and Injury-Free Workplace safety culture, recognizing and reinforcing safety practices, and applicable safety laws and regulations.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program.
Ability to quickly learn new skills and curiosity about the construction process and industry.
Exceptional time management and organization skills.
Bias for action and eagerness to see tasks through to completion.
Strong attention to detail.
Desire to expand and apply academic construction management knowledge to real-world situations and gain exposure to new areas of the business.
Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong math comprehension and calculation skills.

Responsibilities
