About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and ensure financial accuracy across the organization. This role plays a critical part in managing the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting timely reporting that drives informed business decisions. This is an onsite position working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of job costing
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data imports/exports)
  • Experience with construction accounting software such as: Sage 300, Viewpoint / Spectrum, Procore or similar
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability
  • Ability to research and resolve issues independently and meet deadlines
  • Candidates without construction accounting and job costing experience may not be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-entity or joint venture accounting
  • Experience with Viewpoint or Spectrum ERP systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Record daily, weekly, and monthly financial transactions accurately and timely
  • Export, compile, and import data into the ERP system to ensure accurate reporting
  • Audit Accounts Payable invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper job cost coding prior to posting
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Manage and support job costing processes to ensure accurate project financial tracking
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with operations, project managers, and leadership to resolve discrepancies and gather financial data
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including setup and tracking within systems
  • Verify purchase orders are properly allocated
  • Coordinate and support inventory cycle counts and reconciliations
  • Support Accounts Payable and ensure timely invoice processing
  • Assist with customer cash receipts and reconciliations
  • Provide accurate and timely financial updates to internal stakeholders
