About The Position

This role is generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments, working under general supervision. Primary responsibilities include knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards, understanding of construction safety requirements with a commitment to a zero accidents environment, and ensuring contractor activities are planned and executed with safety first. The position involves coordinating Request for Information (RFI) from contractors, ensuring timely engineering responses, and maintaining RFI logs. It also includes compiling building permit packages and submitting them to permitting agencies, coordinating the review of submittments and maintaining logs of open submittals, and assisting construction team(s) with assembling drawing packages for various phases of work. Additionally, the role assists the estimating team with miscellaneous estimates and requires the ability to manage client relationships in complex situations, relate easily to others in the business community, handle stress with poise, understand customer needs and preferences, clearly communicate expectations, set priorities, and possess excellent listening, communication (verbal and written), presentation, and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
  • Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.
  • Ability to handle stress with poise.
  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.
  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.
  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
