About The Position

Join RQC, LLC, a leading Design-Build contractor specializing in military, federal, and large-scale commercial construction projects across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Officer (SSHO) to support military construction projects in the Saint Mary's, Georgia area for ongoing work at Kings Bay Naval Base. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with experience in commercial construction, federal projects, NAVFAC, USACE, DoD construction, EM 385-1-1 compliance, and OSHA regulations. The SSHO serves as the onsite safety leader and is responsible for implementing and enforcing project safety programs in accordance with: EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Contract requirements, and RQC Safety Management System. This role works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive jobsite. This is a full-time, onsite position. Travel or relocation assistance may be considered for qualified candidates outside the area.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience at the jobsite level
  • Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
  • Competent Person training and/or experience in fall protection, excavation/trenching, confined spaces, electrical safety, scaffolding, and PPE
  • Documented safety training averaging 24 hours annually over the past 5 years
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • OSHA 30-Hour (within the last 5 years)
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire
  • Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NAVFAC, USACE, DoD, or federal construction projects
  • Experience with RMS, QCS, or Viewpoint
