Construction Scheduler
About The Position
The best Schedulers do more than build timelines. They create visibility, align resources, identify risks before they impact execution, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. At RK Industries, you'll play a critical role in supporting engineering, fabrication, and construction operations across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with Project Managers, CAD teams, fabrication shops, field operations, procurement teams, and customers, you'll develop and maintain schedules that drive decision-making and keep projects aligned with key milestones and deliverables. You'll help balance manpower forecasting, fabrication flow, procurement activities, and construction sequencing while providing project teams with the information they need to manage risk and optimize performance. This is an opportunity to develop advanced scheduling expertise while making a direct impact on project success across some of the industry's most complex and challenging projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in construction, project controls, planning, scheduling, or a related technical role
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles
- Knowledge of Takt Planning, Last Planner System methodologies, and advanced scheduling techniques
- Experience developing and managing complex project schedules across multiple stakeholders
- Ability to analyze schedule data and identify risks, delays, and performance trends
- Strong understanding of construction processes, specifications, methods, and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to influence project outcomes through planning and coordination
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience in a dedicated scheduling or project controls position
- Knowledge of MEP construction sequencing and predecessor activities preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage engineering, fabrication, and construction schedules from project initiation through completion
- Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, designers, procurement teams, construction managers, contractors, and project stakeholders to develop detailed project schedules
- Build resource-loaded schedules that include critical activities, major milestones, procurement requirements, approvals, and key project deliverables
- Integrate customer schedules with internal project schedules and provide visibility into schedule impacts and constraints
- Analyze project schedules to identify risks, delays, conflicts, and opportunities for improvement
- Monitor fabrication milestones, design deadlines, procurement activities, and construction progress to ensure alignment with project objectives
- Review customer baseline schedules and schedule updates for accuracy, integrity, and potential impacts to project execution
- Assist project teams in developing acceleration plans and delay mitigation strategies
- Maintain production tracking information and ensure schedule data supports operational planning efforts
- Generate labor forecasting and resource planning reports to support workforce management initiatives
- Participate in weekly project and production meetings to review progress, priorities, and schedule performance
- Prepare schedule reports, presentations, and documentation to support project reviews and risk assessments
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and project controls
- Mentor and support team members in scheduling best practices and planning methodologies
- Provide timely communication and reporting to project stakeholders throughout all phases of execution
