About The Position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Construction Sales Specialist in Roseville, MN. This role involves identifying, developing, and securing construction project opportunities to drive profitable growth across approximately 15 states in the Midwest. The specialist will sell and manage industrial gas, hardgoods, and vending solutions to the construction sector, collaborating with regional and localized operations teams to ensure reliable service models tailored to each geography. A key aspect of the role is building relationships with owners, contractors, engineers, architects, project managers, and other key decision-makers throughout the project lifecycle. The position also requires supporting shared growth objectives with other sales team members, promoting Linde products, technologies, and services, and delivering exceptional account service. Improving account profitability by understanding customer operations, value drivers, and cost-to-serve considerations is crucial. The role involves developing customer growth strategies, pricing recommendations, and project-specific sales plans. Responsibilities include preparing project estimates and proposals by evaluating specifications, drawings, labor and material requirements, and project schedules. The Construction Sales Specialist will serve as a primary point of contact during pre-construction, project planning, and execution phases, maintaining strong relationships with contractors, vendors, strategic partners, and internal teams. Monitoring competitive activity, market trends, and customer developments to expand Linde's market presence is also required, along with maintaining accurate project, pipeline, and customer information.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of outside sales experience in industrial, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or related B2B environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction sales, project management, project development, estimating, or related disciplines.
  • Strong commercial negotiation, account management, and business-development skills with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Experience developing and managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industrial gas applications, process utility systems, or technically complex industrial facilities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%-75% based on project and business needs.

  • Improve account profitability by understanding customer operations, value drivers, and cost-to-serve considerations.
  • Develop customer growth strategies, pricing recommendations, and project-specific sales plans that support long-term business objectives.
  • Prepare project estimates and proposals by evaluating specifications, drawings, labor requirements, material requirements, and project schedules.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during pre-construction activities, project planning, and project execution phases.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, strategic partners, and internal business teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and customer developments while identifying opportunities to expand Linde market presence.
  • Maintain accurate project, pipeline, and customer information and support ongoing business-development initiatives.
