About The Position

The Greenridge Group is seeking experienced Safety Managers to support construction projects throughout the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). As a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management for major public-sector agencies, we are looking for individuals to play a meaningful role in shaping safe, modern, high-quality school environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of U.S. commercial construction experience with a General Contractor
  • 5+ years of California construction experience with a contractor or major subcontractor
  • 2+ years of construction experience on educational projects in a campus environment
  • Experience managing or overseeing field construction teams across multiple projects
  • Experience with demolition, renovation, and new construction projects
  • Experience working with OCIP programs
  • Experience with safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting
  • Experience with modernization/renovation projects involving hazardous-material abatement or remediation, including asbestos and lead-based paint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel between multiple project sites throughout the greater Los Angeles area
  • Must hold a current and active SMS (Safety Management Specialist), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), OR CSMC (Certified Safety Manager Construction)
  • Must hold a current and active First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, Safety Engineering, or a related field
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
  • OSHA 500 certification
  • Additional construction safety and health certifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily construction site safety inspections and document observations.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, project safety requirements, and established safety procedures.
  • Review contractor safety documentation, including JHAs, MOPs, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation Plans, Scaffold Erection Plans, and Confined Space Entry procedures.
  • Participate in construction meetings and lead safety discussions regarding site observations and upcoming work activities.
  • Prepare daily safety reports and weekly Health, Safety & Environmental Observation Reports.
  • Review incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and assist with lessons-learned reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements.
  • Support the Program Safety Manager with safety reporting, analysis, meetings, and other program needs.
  • Work collaboratively with project management, contractor management, and field construction teams across multiple project sites.
