About The Position
Join a concrete contractor supporting a major airport construction project in Tampa, FL. This role provides hands-on field safety oversight for concrete construction, scaffolding, elevated work, material handling, and daily construction activities within a fast-paced airport project environment. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with craft personnel and project supervision. Responsibilities include daily employee sign-in, Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), scaffold inspections, field observations, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in accordance with project-specific requirements.
Requirements
- OSHA 510 Certification
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
- Working knowledge of Concrete Construction Safety
- Working knowledge of Formwork & Reinforcing Steel
- Working knowledge of Scaffold Safety & Inspections
- Working knowledge of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work
- Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
- Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
- Working knowledge of Construction Site Inspections
- Working knowledge of Hazard Recognition & Corrective Actions
- Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
- Working knowledge of Incident Investigation
- Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

Responsibilities
- Provide daily field safety oversight for concrete construction operations
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
- Complete and maintain daily employee sign-in documentation
- Develop, review, and administer daily Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Conduct daily scaffold inspections and monitor scaffold use
- Monitor concrete placement, formwork, reinforcing steel, and related activities
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
- Monitor fall protection and elevated work activities
- Ensure workers comply with project-specific safety policies and procedures
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and coordinate immediate corrective actions
- Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans
- Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
- Coordinate safety activities with project supervision and field leadership
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
- Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
