About The Position

Join a concrete contractor supporting a major airport construction project in Tampa, FL. This role provides hands-on field safety oversight for concrete construction, scaffolding, elevated work, material handling, and daily construction activities within a fast-paced airport project environment. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with craft personnel and project supervision. Responsibilities include daily employee sign-in, Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), scaffold inspections, field observations, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in accordance with project-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • OSHA 510 Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Concrete Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Formwork & Reinforcing Steel
  • Working knowledge of Scaffold Safety & Inspections
  • Working knowledge of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
  • Working knowledge of Construction Site Inspections
  • Working knowledge of Hazard Recognition & Corrective Actions
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for concrete construction operations
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
  • Complete and maintain daily employee sign-in documentation
  • Develop, review, and administer daily Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Conduct daily scaffold inspections and monitor scaffold use
  • Monitor concrete placement, formwork, reinforcing steel, and related activities
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor fall protection and elevated work activities
  • Ensure workers comply with project-specific safety policies and procedures
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and coordinate immediate corrective actions
  • Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Coordinate safety activities with project supervision and field leadership
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
