About The Position

O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company based out of Torrington, CT, is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to support our building and heavy civil operations throughout the state. This leadership role is responsible for advancing and maintaining a strong safety culture across a diverse portfolio of projects, including transportation infrastructure, commercial construction, educational facilities, public works, and other complex building and heavy civil projects. The successful candidate will partner with project teams, field leadership, and executive management to proactively identify risks, implement effective safety solutions, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of occupational safety experience
  • Construction safety experience required, preferably within building, infrastructure, or heavy civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated problem solver with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Proficiency with safety management software, claims reporting systems, and mobile inspection platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction safety experience will be considered
  • ASP, CSP, CHST, or other relevant safety certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote and strengthen O&G's safety culture across multiple construction projects throughout Connecticut
  • Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Partner with project teams to identify hazards and implement proactive corrective actions
  • Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses to drive continuous improvement
  • Deliver safety training, coaching, and mentoring for field personnel and project leadership
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Review and inspect equipment, tools, and work practices to ensure safe operations
  • Support claims management, incident reporting, and safety documentation processes
  • Analyze safety performance metrics and recommend improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with operations teams to integrate safety into project planning and execution
