Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safe work practices.
  • Experience with site inspections, incident investigations, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Ability to review safety plans, permits, drawings, logistics plans, and project schedules.
  • Strong communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Nice To Haves

  • Biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, cleanroom, or regulated-facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety oversight for active construction and renovation projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and compliance issues.
  • Review contractor safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses, permits, training records, and certifications.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, client, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Oversee high-risk activities, including fall protection, electrical work, hot work, confined spaces, excavation, lockout/tagout, and lifting operations.
  • Track corrective actions and confirm timely resolution.
  • Lead or support incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Maintain required safety documentation and communicate risks to project teams and client stakeholders.
  • Coordinate safety activities with contractors, project management, facilities, and Environmental Health and Safety teams.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when serious safety risks are identified.
