About The Position

Join a solar contractor supporting a utility-scale solar construction project in Jackson, MI. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety activities for solar array installation, civil construction, equipment operations, material handling, and daily field operations while supporting a growing renewable energy industry. This position also offers the potential to transition into a full-time W2 role upon successful project completion.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • 5+ years of construction safety management experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Solar Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Utility-Scale Renewable Energy Projects
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work Activities
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Equipment Safety
  • Working knowledge of Excavation & Trenching Awareness
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Hazard Awareness
  • Working knowledge of Commercial & Industrial Construction Safety Best Practices

Nice To Haves

  • NABCEP Certification (PV Associate, PV Installer, or higher)
  • Solar construction experience
  • Renewable energy project experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for solar construction operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
  • Support and enforce fall protection programs and site-specific safety procedures
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver new hire orientations and ongoing safety training
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Monitor equipment operations, material handling activities, and field work practices
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project
