About The Position

The Construction Safety Manager will serve as an extension of the Construction Management (CM) project team and oversee safety management practices on the project. The Safety Manager will report findings, non-conformance, and recommendations to the CM.

Requirements

• Proven field-heavy commercial-to-industrial experience.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 510.
• Experience with steel/structures and heavy mechanical systems.

Nice To Haves

• BCSP certification of some type; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand the EH&S Policy and Contract Drawings/Specifications for safety applicability.
• Lead Pre-Task Plan huddles and review Pre-Task Plan boards for all other trades onsite.
• Lead New Worker Orientation.
• Perform audits required by code or policy, or provide useful safety metrics.
• Participate in weekly meetings and provide a general safety review of upcoming work, with particular attention to high-risk activities.
• Facilitate the safety portion of Pre-Construction Meetings for trade packages, as scheduled by the CM, to clearly define safety performance expectations.
• Review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) submissions.
• Ensure jobsite postings are kept up to date.
• Collaborate across teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Perform other full-time safety management tasks as required by the Superintendent.
