About The Position

The Safety Manager will serve as the dedicated full-time, non-working safety representative assigned to the job site. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all site safety protocols, conducting safety observations, ensuring subcontractor compliance, mitigating hazards, and maintaining all required documentation and reporting standards. This role requires a proactive leader with strong construction safety knowledge, field presence, and the ability to drive accountability across all levels of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field AND Minimum 1 year of relevant safety experience
  • Safety Certification such as STS-C, CHST, CSP, or equivalent AND Minimum 3 years of experience in construction supervision
  • Minimum 5 years in a dedicated full-time safety role (100% safety responsibilities with no additional duties)
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Resume submission with professional references and contact information
  • Copies of all certifications and completed safety trainings required
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and job site compliance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Experience working with general contractors and subcontractor compliance programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the full-time onsite safety representative for the project
  • Enforce all company, client, and general contractor safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct and document a minimum of 15 multiple coachable safety observations per week (or more as required by GC)
  • Submit all safety observations through required reporting platforms such as Smartsheets or Safety Mojo
  • Ensure all observations include required photos and proper documentation
  • Track and document PPE compliance, including worker name and company for each PPE observation
  • Maintain a minimum of 2 PPE observations per day as part of weekly safety requirements
  • Identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and ensure immediate correction and mitigation
  • Partner with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain job site compliance
  • Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training as needed
  • Review subcontractor safety compliance and ensure site safety managers meet project expectations
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
  • Ensure all supervisors are correcting unsafe acts and conditions immediately upon identification
