About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a Construction Resident Project Manager I for immediate employment in Austin, Texas. Our position provides you with an opportunity to work on exciting and large-scale water and wastewater projects. Your primary purpose will be to inspect and enforce the contract requirements for pipeline, pumping facility, storage, and wastewater treatment plant projects.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US citizens or permanent residents only (no sponsorship available).

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years of progressively challenging experience on major construction projects performing Construction Inspection and Quality Assurance/Control.
  • Construction inspection experience working on Wastewater Collection, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Stormwater, Paving, and similar Improvements projects.
  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations.
  • Experience in reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation in a construction environment.
  • Experience with simultaneously inspecting multiple contractors.
  • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and observing all the work that is performed.
  • Taking photographs and doing detailed daily reports (invaluable later for claims defense).
  • Ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
  • Attend morning safety briefings for the planned scope of work. Verify daily THA’s for daily completeness.
  • Participating in progress meetings.
  • Facilitating any special inspections that are required per building code.
  • Facilitating any coordination with other entities such as building inspectors, Fire Marshall etc.
  • Observe any testing activities or commissioning of equipment during phases of work.
  • Assist with verifying end day security and housekeeping activities for completeness.
  • Verify and report on updated redline and as built drawings through progression.
  • Verify invoices match work completed for pay applications.
  • Drafting field directive assistance.
  • Change order review assistance.
  • Assist with coordinating partial or total treatment plant shutdowns.
  • Assist with contract closeout: punch list development, final inspections, start up, commissioning, spare parts hand off.
