Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years management experience in commercial refrigeration construction, or related industry.
  • 10 years’ experience in construction, refrigeration, HVAC or related industry.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in managing multiple projects and/or multiple business locations.
  • Experience in commercial building construction industry required.
  • Knowledge of construction industry, principles and practices related to project estimation, labor forecasting, building permits, multiple disciplines involved in area of responsibility e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry and fixtures construction.
  • Demonstrated ability manage multiple projects, set and balance competing priorities with strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills, ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead diverse and multi-discipline workforce.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Good communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated business and project management skills including knowledge of automated project management tools, financial reports and general knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline work teams required.
  • Ability to lead geographically distributed, multiple shift organization, required.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Ability to train, coach, mentor and develop subordinates.
  • Driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Requires overnight travel.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, Work Order Software, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or other industry related to construction, preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 30
  • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping of refrigeration equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer-controlled systems, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for approximately $30M revenue annually from construction projects within the region with an annual EBITDA expectation.
  • Provides Construction Management support by reviewing monthly profit and loss statements, project status reports and other information to ensure organizational goals are met.
  • Promotes and fosters teamwork within Regional Construction Branches by setting specific goals, monitoring and analyzing jobs as they proceed, forecasting current and future manpower requirements as needed, and appraising individual and group performance to establish highly competent teams.
  • Provides excellent leadership to Regional Construction Branches, work teams and individual employees.
  • Provides timely communication within the department and across organizational lines.
  • Provides timely performance feedback, training and coaching to develop to subordinate managers and employees.
  • Responsible for employee related transactions including hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Reviews and coordinates current and upcoming jobs to ensure efficient planning, materials, labor forecasting, and coordination on jobs to ensure efficient resource allocations, financial performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Works with other Regional Construction Managers and Directors to resource and deploy work teams across the company to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Meets with existing and new customers, general contractors and subcontractors to coordinate jobs, bids and proposals.
  • Ensures, through timely and proactive communication, positive customer and vendor relations.
  • Drives and leads continuous process improvement and Lean/Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Supports and coordinates with Sales to provide accurate estimates for bids and proposals.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping on trucks, parts and material inventory and resolves discrepancies on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
