About The Position

Twining Consulting, Inc., an innovative engineering, testing, and inspection company, is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager to work on a long-term project in the San Diego area.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an ABET-accredited college of engineering and/or a registered professional engineer in the State of California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction experience on similar wastewater treatment plant projects or large water, dam, and Levee projects.
  • Minimum of 24 hours of quality control training.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, engineering principles, and field inspection/testing procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with owners, engineers, contractors, and field staff.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to and remain onsite in the San Diego area as required for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of the CQCM Plan
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific Quality Control Plan, including updates as work progresses.
  • Conduct daily quality inspections, document findings, and ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Review and approve subcontractor submittals, including materials, mix designs, installation procedures, and equipment documentation.
  • Ensure all onsite testing is performed by qualified technicians and review test reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with the Contractor, Owner, and design team to resolve nonconformance issues, track NCRs, and verify corrective actions.
  • Maintain complete and organized QC documentation, including inspection forms, test reports, RFIs, submittal logs, and daily reports.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and updated revisions to ensure field compliance and communicate changes to project teams.
  • Monitor subcontractor operations to ensure proper construction methods, sequencing, and installation per approved plans.
  • Participate in progress meetings, quality coordination meetings, and interface regularly with client representatives.
