About The Position

RQ Construction is hiring experienced Construction Quality Control Managers (CQCMs) to join our growing Field Operations team. This role is a key part of delivering high-quality, on-time projects for our valued clients - primarily within the Department of Defense sector. Current project assignments are in the Norfolk, VA area and require on-site presence at an active military base. This position may potentially require second-shift work. Local candidates are preferred, but relocation may be considered for this position. As a CQCM, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the project-specific quality control program. You'll oversee quality performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements, maintain thorough and timely documentation, and foster a high level of client satisfaction - all in alignment with our Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science preferred
  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager on comparable projects
  • 3+ years of dedicated experience as a QC Manager
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements and experience in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Internet
  • Experience with software such as Viewpoint/Vista and RMS/QCS is preferred
  • Maritime construction experience is a plus
  • Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
