Construction Quality Assurance Inspector
About The Position
AAR, now part of SOCOTEC, is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Inspector. This role involves performing quality assurance and control inspections, material testing, and reviewing construction drawings and specifications. The inspector will communicate findings to various stakeholders, write detailed reports, and supervise junior staff. The position requires ensuring work complies with contract documents, specifications, and plans, and initiating non-conformance processes when necessary. Responsibilities include reviewing contract documents, studying project specifications, and ensuring contractor compliance.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Energetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workload
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a project quality role
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or Three (3) years’ relevant work experience plus a technical or Associate’s degree, or five (5) years of relevant inspection experience
- Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ICC, ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC, and/or CWI
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Responsibilities
- Perform Quality Assurance/Control Inspections
- Perform Material Testing (Certifications Required)
- Review approved construction drawings and specifications
- Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
- Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
- Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
- Supervise and train junior inspectors and testing technicians
- Perform observations and inspections mainly related to Concrete/Steel/Civil Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with the Contract, Specifications, and RFC plans
- Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing, hold-point inspections, and material receiving
- Initiate non-conformance processes when materials, products, tools, equipment or Work do not meet the required specifications
- Review of contract documents
- Study project specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and procedures
- Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
- Obtain certifications to perform in-field material testing
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
