About The Position

Spiniello Companies is a privately held, national, full-service utility contractor. Founded in 1922, we are one of the few companies that fully self-performs all aspects of open cut and specialty pipe rehabilitation. Headquarters in New Jersey, we also have office locations in Maryland, Washington D.C., and California. This role requires expert knowledge of Civil Construction, Earthwork, and Utilities construction. The ideal candidate will be able to apply efficient, innovative, and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance and project success, with a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices and standards, processes, and activities. The position also involves knowledge of Civil Construction, Pipeline Rehabilitation, and Utilities construction, applying efficient, innovative, and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance and project success, with a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices and standards, processes and activities.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of Civil Construction, Earthwork, and Utilities construction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or comparable experience OR Four-year construction management or engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Strong Civil Construction, Trenchless Technologies and Underground Utility experience.
  • Experienced in reading drawings, takeoffs and detailed specification understanding.
  • Familiar with local, state and federal municipalities and agencies.
  • Thorough understanding of construction accounting.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of project experience in Civil Construction/Underground Utility Construction OR Minimum of 5+ years of project experience in Civil Construction/Underground Utility Construction.
  • Familiar with deep excavations, drainage, water, sewer, trenchless technologies and other civil construction scopes.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent team building skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Sage Timberline and HCSS.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Independent with strong leadership skills.
  • Thorough understanding of construction codes and working knowledge of all trades and OSHA safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of alternative delivery methods (Design/Build, CMAR, etc.) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Sage Timberline and HCSS is a plus.

  • Read and evaluate drawings and relevant contract documents and to prepare takeoffs.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Work after hours, and on nights/weekends based on project demands.
