About The Position

The Construction Project Manager implements and may provide input into strategic goals for organization and facilities project management. Applies expertise in facilities project management to support the development of policies, procedures, and programs. This role typically works on projects and initiatives that span 12 months – 2 years. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing the construction of facilities, including new construction and buildouts, interacting with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants. They will interface with all internal business units and external contractors in communication, scheduling, and implementation of all assigned project sets. The role involves reporting weekly progress to the project management team, department leadership, and internal client key stakeholders, identifying and articulating issues, and negotiating resolutions with a sense of urgency. Additionally, the Construction Project Manager is responsible for sourcing equipment, parts, and services related to facilities maintenance, maintaining a safe and orderly work environment, and providing positive leadership and effective implementation strategies. They will also provide specialist knowledge, training, and support to the business to improve business case development, project delivery, and resolve implementation issues. Adherence to project quality control policies and practices is expected, as is establishing realistic project timelines and schedules. The role includes leading and developing talent through training, managing low to moderately complex projects, articulating intended outcomes, planning work, giving direction, resolving issues, and holding others accountable. Problem-solving is a key aspect, with the ability to work independently and solve highly complex problems. The role requires expert knowledge of the particular field of specialization and advanced knowledge of the organization’s technologies and practices. Community engagement understanding and participation in industry/knowledge groups are also part of the role. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 7 years’ experience.
Regular driver’s license required.
Experience managing/coordinating multiple projects.
Expert knowledge of particular field of specialization.
Advanced knowledge of organization’s technologies and practices.

Responsibilities

Manage construction of facilities, new construction and buildouts, interacting with architects, engineers, contractors and consultants.
Interface with all internal business units and external contractors in communication, scheduling, and implementation of all assigned project sets.
Reports weekly progress to project management team, department leadership, and internal client key stakeholders; identify and articulate issues and negotiate resolution with a sense of urgency.
Responsible for sourcing of equipment, parts and services related to facilities maintenance.
