About The Position

This position is located in the Project Management Division of the Public Works Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. Construction Project Manager is a full proficiency, para-professional classification responsible for the administration and/or supervision of major components of engineering projects. Specialized work areas include water, storm sewer, paving, building, or sanitary sewer construction. Essential job functions include: reviewing or coordinating plans, specifications, and construction for projects prepared by the City within an assigned functional area both in house and at field locations; reviewing plans prepared by consultants that may impact the area; preparing various documents and reports; determining and monitoring funding allocations; and distributing required information to coordinate and facilitate construction. Construction Project Managers may supervise technical staff, with work products subject to review by a Civil Engineer or other immediate supervisor.

  • Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator).

Nice To Haves

  • Project management experience with large (one million dollars or more) and complex infrastructure projects, such as street, drainage, bridge, traffic, park and facility projects.
  • Experience in resolving conflicts and problem solving.
  • Experience reviewing construction plans, specifications and schedules.
  • Experience working with architects, engineers and contractors.
  • Experience in the use of project management software.
