Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or better in civil engineering or related field.
  • 10 years or more experience in water main, sanitary sewer, road, pathways, and stormwater systems.
  • Working knowledge of established construction practices, procedures and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal delivery requirements.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS programs.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to continue to grow both personally and professionally with our Construction team in Northern Ohio.

Nice To Haves

  • State of Ohio PE license is preferred but NOT required.
  • ODOT prequalification as a CEI or CEII preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a liaison between the field services construction group and the other disciplines at OHM Advisors.
  • Attend all meetings during the construction phase.
  • Be the day-to-day construction representative for the client.
  • Effectively communicate construction issues, providing alternatives, solutions, and recommendations to the Project Manager and/or the client.
  • Be integral to OHM business development and client satisfaction.
  • Understand OHM services and how they relate to the clients.
  • Provide project logging for the preliminary design phase.
  • Enforce and administer the compliance of construction contracts in accordance with project plans and specifications for CIP, ODOT/LAP, and Private Projects.
  • Closing out of Public and Private Projects, ensuring all documents, final inspections, and estimates are complete before recommending final acceptance.
  • Provide constructability QA/QC reviews of preliminary designs.
  • Provide "as built" plans of the completed project.
  • Manage staff and sub-consultants during the construction phases.
  • Identify necessary required staff resources and work with the Construction Manager in the hiring process.
  • Provide coaching and training of staff.
  • Perform annual performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Approve daily reports, timesheets, and personal time off and any expenses for direct reports.
  • Assure that direct reports have the tools and training to effectively perform their job.
