About The Position

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Construction Project Manager to oversee affordable housing projects with a strong emphasis on MSHDA and LIHTC compliance. This role is ideal for a professional who understands the administrative and regulatory demands of MSHDA-funded projects and is comfortable managing work in occupied renovation environments. While a wide range of project types is not required, candidates must be committed to the nature of this work and interested in continuing within this specialized space long term.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of commercial construction project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction principles, project management, and financial acumen.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and team development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MSHDA-funded projects preferred but not required.
  • Occupied renovation experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC projects preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects with a strong focus on MSHDA and LIHTC compliance requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate occupied renovation projects, ensuring safety, communication, and minimal disruption.
  • Prepare, review, and submit required documentation, reports, and compliance materials accurately and on time.
  • Maintain detailed project records and ensure adherence to all regulatory, funding, and reporting standards.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and financial reporting, ensuring timely updates and transparency.
  • Identify and resolve design, construction, and scheduling issues as they arise.
  • Engage in business development by supporting proposals, presentations, and client relationship building.
  • Travel frequently to projects throughout Michigan (typically 1-1.5 hours from Grand Rapids but can be further project dependent).
  • Coordinate with owners, developers, inspectors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Utilize project management and reporting tools to track progress and ensure accuracy.
