Construction Project Manager Special Projects and Transitions
About The Position
A role in Construction means leading the execution of store and distribution center projects. From large program rollouts to unique special projects, or large ground-up construction, you’ll help manage the scope, schedule, and budget for all Target construction projects, including adhering to the project timeline, coordinating and overseeing the onsite construction process and turnover. You’ll keep all of the players and partners aligned with effective communication between vendors, general contractors, field leadership and project teams. As a Construction Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams as you develop and manage scopes, budgets and schedules and control the construction and fixture installation process for assigned projects to meet the established goals and objectives. By reviewing and analyzing contractor bids, you will make recommendations and approve subcontractor bids, conduct contract negotiations, review and approve changes to the contract and applications for payments, and close out all necessary contracts. You’ll conduct periodic meetings to monitor the activities and budgets of other departments that affect the projects. You will be responsible for project completion within approved budget, which includes obtaining, reviewing, and maintaining the budget input from other documents. In this role, ensuring Target quality control standards are being achieved on the each project is key. Core responsibilities are described within this job description. Requirements
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in project management, store planning or purchasing
- Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects with key focus on estimating, budgeting and scheduling management
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Experience in public speaking and presenting
- Strong organizational skills
- Highly self-motivated and committed to the development of high-quality work and productivity
- Periodic project travel
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture preferred
Responsibilities
