Facilities Management Services (FMS) supports the RIT community by designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining a high-quality, cost-effective campus environment. As part of FMS Construction Services, the Small Projects Team plays a key role in enhancing and maintaining the university's buildings and spaces through renovation, improvement, and infrastructure projects that support the evolving needs of the campus. The Project Coordinator primarily self-performs and manages Tier 1 construction and renovation projects, which represent more than 90% of the role. Working under general supervision, the incumbent independently plans, coordinates, and executes routine campus improvement projects while managing project budgets, schedules, quality, and contractor performance. Responsibilities include obtaining contractor estimates, coordinating and overseeing work performed by vendors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Through hands-on project execution and coordination, the Project Coordinator develops project management, technical, customer service, and fiscal skills while supporting the ongoing enhancement of the university's facilities and spaces. Opportunities may exist to assist with projects in higher tiers based on departmental needs and project assignments.
