About The Position

Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the world’s leading wetland and waterfowl conservation organization, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Procurement Specialist familiar with federal and state funded construction projects based in our Western Regional Office located in Rancho Cordova, California. The position will be part of a larger team of conservation professionals working in Ducks Unlimited’s nine Western Region states.

Requirements

  • Two years of practical experience in construction contract procurement and management.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Basic knowledge of project management concepts.
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, well-organized.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while pivoting efficiently to high‑priority or time‑sensitive work.
  • Provide exceptional service in close team-based relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's degree in business administration or a construction-related field is desirable.
  • Experience with conducting bidding processes.
  • Knowledge of construction contracting and public works requirements including prevailing wages.
  • Consultant contracting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting all project-related procurements, including construction, consultant, and material purchase agreements.
  • Providing expertise in procurement compliance and processes.
  • Review of government contracts and grants, specifically for procurement-related compliance.
  • Assist with construction project bidding, prepare and QA/QC bid packages, review, develop, and track contracts, change orders, and insurance/bonding requirements, and complete lien releases.
  • Assist with professional service contracts, prepare and QA/QC RFP packages, review, develop and track contracts, amendments and insurance requirements.
  • Develop expertise in and utilize the PMWeb application for procurement management.
  • Provide coordination of prevailing wage compliance.
  • Maintain project documentation in a standardized and organized manner.
  • Adhere to and ensure government and internal procurement regulations.
  • Perform project coordination duties and various administrative tasks as needed.
