About The Position

Atmos Energy is seeking individuals to fill the roles of Construction Operator, Service Technician, or Distribution Operator in Canon City, Colorado. The specific role will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position with all training provided. Residency requirements apply. Requirements

  • General educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
  • Ability to lift 88 pounds from the ground to 38 inches.
  • Ability to carry 88 pounds a distance of 5 feet.
  • Ability to generate 100-foot pounds of pulling force at a contact point of 25 inches.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell.
  • As a Safety-Sensitive position, must pass pre and post employment screenings, including drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks.
  • Ability to utilize the Company's internet/intranet web site and available resources for data entry, reference, and/or retrieval tasks.
  • Ability to communicate with internal/external customers to obtain and/or provide basic factual information.

  • May require overnight travel.
  • May have residence requirement due to call-out response time.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic, routine work using clearly prescribed procedures, seeking guidance for deviations.
  • Assists in the installation and maintenance of natural gas lines, meters, and regulators.
  • May assist in conducting leakage surveys.
  • Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • May be required to hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasional extended hours.
  • Is subject to reporting outside regular work area.
  • Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
  • Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
  • Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values, strategies, policies, and procedures, learning the core values of AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety, and the Company's Code of Conduct.
  • Must become familiar with the Safety Manual, adhere to its intent, and participate in creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Must complete all required safety training.
