About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking an experienced, mid-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician for its Houston, Texas office. The technician performs testing of construction materials—including soils, concrete, masonry, aggregates, and asphalt—on industrial, commercial, and transportation construction projects throughout the region. The role includes in-depth technical training and the opportunity to earn industry certifications after successfully completing examinations and demonstrating ability. Requirements

• At least 1 year of construction materials testing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification (required).
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Excellent plan-reading skills.
• Demonstrated math and technical aptitude.
• Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 75 or more pounds.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to work at times on uneven terrain, at varying heights, in confined spaces, or in supported trenches.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
• Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature measurements.
• Perform field density tests of soils.
• Prepare daily reports and document field activities electronically.
• Work with project managers and senior technicians or staff to ensure specifications are followed.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior staff as needed.
• Travel as needed.
