Construction Materials Services Manager
About The Position
S&ME is seeking a full-time Services Manager to join their Construction Services team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves leading the Construction Materials and Special Inspection team, mentoring staff, overseeing project execution, and ensuring client satisfaction. The manager will be responsible for revenue growth, staff chargeability, project profitability, monthly billing, accounts receivable, and business development. S&ME has a 50-year history of providing innovative geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction material testing services across various industries. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a Construction-related field, preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Operational and/or Project Management for construction materials testing and special inspection projects
- Proficient in using company technology for proposals, reports, payroll, billing, and data management
- Sound decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Willing and able to perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment
- Willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willing and able to walk over rough, uneven terrain and stand for potentially long periods
- Willing and able to routinely lift and carry 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Willing and able to work outside of normal business hours when necessary
- Must comply with Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.
- Must have valid employment eligibility (I-9).

Responsibilities
- Lead the Construction Materials and Special Inspection team.
- Supervise and mentor Field and Laboratory Services Managers, Professionals, and Administrative staff.
- Oversee revenue growth, staff chargeability, and project profitability metrics.
- Prepare and oversee proposals and large-scale client projects.
- Handle monthly billing, accounts receivable, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate on business development and nurture client relationships.
- Assist in delivering exceptional engineering services.
- Oversee the testing of construction materials.
- Manage special inspection projects.
- Ensure the success of projects through strategic leadership, precise project execution, and a strong focus on client satisfaction and team growth.
