Construction Materials Services Manager
About The Position
S&ME is seeking a full-time Services Manager to join our Construction Services team in Augusta, Georgia. This role involves leading the Construction Materials and Special Inspection team, contributing to community impact, and fostering team growth. The manager will oversee construction materials testing and special inspection projects, ensuring project success through strategic leadership, precise execution, and a focus on client satisfaction and team development. Responsibilities include supervising staff, driving department excellence through revenue growth and profitability metrics, managing proposals and large-scale projects, handling billing and accounts receivable, and collaborating on business development and client relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a Construction-related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Operational and/or Project Management for construction materials testing and special inspection projects.
- Proficiency in using company technology for proposals, reports, payroll, billing, and data management.
- Sound decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Willing and able to perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as: Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially long periods, Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment).
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
- Must comply with Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.
- Must have valid employment eligibility (I-9).

Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor Field and Laboratory Services Managers, Professionals, and Administrative staff.
- Oversee revenue growth, staff chargeability, and project profitability metrics.
- Prepare and oversee proposals and large-scale client projects.
- Handle monthly billing, accounts receivable, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate on business development and nurture client relationships.
