About The Position

Certerra is a consulting firm providing professional services in the southwestern United States in geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, and construction materials engineering and testing. The company is hiring an experienced Construction Materials Project Manager for its Tucson, Arizona office. This full-time opportunity involves supporting project delivery, conducting construction materials inspections and testing, managing project documentation and budgets, and assisting with the training and supervision of junior staff.

Requirements

At least 2 years of construction materials testing and observation experience.
Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and clean driving history.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
Strong organization and planning skills.
Comfort with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing IBC Special Inspections.
Experience with small to large complex construction and/or heavy highway projects.
Four-year Civil Engineering degree.
EIT or PE-level accreditation.
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification.
One ICC certification.

Responsibilities

Work with project designers and clients to ensure client specifications are followed.
Perform routine to complex inspections and testing of construction materials in the field.
Prepare daily reports on observation activities.
Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with proposal scoping and preparation.
Track project budgets and prepare invoicing.
Assist with training, supervision, and mentoring of junior staff as needed.
