Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0-2 years relevant experience (Associate Technician/Technician I)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with an associate degree (Technician II)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with an associate degree (Technician III)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (Technician IV)
  • Industry certifications such as American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician, and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Basic math proficiency, including an understanding of measurements and units of weight
  • The understanding of a fluctuating schedule and interest in occasional travel
  • Thrive in fast-paced, hands-on settings and are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a team
  • Communicate clearly
  • Pay close attention to detail
  • Comfortable working both independently and with others
  • Flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to high standards are essential
  • Ready to embrace new challenges and support our mission of delivering quality service
  • Comply with our Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements
  • Valid employment eligibility (I-9)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in construction is preferred but not required.
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus (Technician IV)

Responsibilities

  • Performing field and laboratory testing on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
  • Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
  • Interpreting test results and preparing detailed reports.
  • Working closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure all work meets specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Experience shifting work hours based on project demands and weather, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half).
  • Occasional travel to support other offices is covered with per diem and lodging.
