The Certerra South division offers professional services in the southern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing and welding inspection. We have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Construction Materials Department Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of construction materials testing and observation experience, required
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications, required
  • Experience in forming relationships with clients and preparing bid estimates/proposals for materials testing and special inspections projects, required
  • Experience in managing staff, required
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving history, required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail, required
  • Strong organization and planning skills, required
  • Comfortable with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and OneDrive, required

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year Civil Engineering degree, preferred
  • EIT or PE level accreditation, preferred
  • Experience ranging from small to large complex construction and/or heavy highway projects, preferred
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
  • One ICC Certification Preferred Certifications
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • NICET: Soils, Concrete and Asphalt

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Buda’s CMT Department including field and laboratory staff
  • Responsible for the departments profit and loss
  • Work with project designers, clients and Project Managers to ensure that project specifications are followed
  • Business development including forming relationships with clients, identifying new opportunities and preparation of proposals and bid estimates
  • Training, supervising and mentoring staff
  • Track project budgets and review invoices
  • Perform project manager duties on assigned projects
