The ECS Co-Op Program allows qualified students to reinforce their education through a practical, hands on, paid work experience. A Construction Materials Co-Op will participate in multiple (2-3) co-op rotations. Currently, we are looking for students to complete a Summer & Fall rotation. This role involves observing and documenting field activities related to the construction process, sampling, testing, and inspecting various construction materials, performing calculations and data reduction, using field screening equipment, reading maps, following directions, interpreting engineering and construction plans, and interacting daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. For experienced co-ops, responsibilities may also include testing of soils, foundations, concrete, masonry, structural steel, and asphalt pavement, determining and performing laboratory tests, attending project meetings, assisting with proposal preparation, scheduling and training of Field Technicians, and assisting with project budgets and invoicing.
