About The Position

Emerson is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineering Co-op for Summer/Fall 2026 to join their Sherman, TX team. This role offers real-world experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The Co-op will play a key role in supporting and leading continuous improvement initiatives within a world-class manufacturing facility. This involves collaborating with subject matter experts and applying lean methodologies to implement safety, ergonomic, quality, and process improvements. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to effectively engaging and informing all relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or any related engineering field
  • Attention to details
  • Commitment to full-time (40 hours) Co-Op experience in Sherman, TX from May 2026 through December 2026
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

  • Strong, hands-on experience from a previous job or internship related to manufacturing, or a project-based academic assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting, promoting, and owning a strong safety culture.
  • Work in a team to achieve performance metrics defined by the following critical success factors: Safety, Service Level, Quality, Training, Cost Reductions, and Process Improvements.
  • Advance continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with subject matter experts in other departments (Engineering, Maintenance & Facilities, Logistics, Production, and Quality.)
  • Leverage Lean principles and tools as appropriate to make valuable contributions towards driving safety, ergonomic, quality, and process improvements.
  • Formally present the status of projects at a regular cadence to relay progress and communicate challenges proactively.
  • Capture knowledge to develop Best Practices and Procedures. Communicate these to employees through Visual Workplace, Formal Training, and Area meetings.
  • Engage in the development of Appropriation Requests and capital projects to successfully implement new technology solutions that will improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
