About The Position

The Construction Manager will focus on Residential and Commercial construction and renovation projects. This role involves the preparation of bids and specifications for assigned projects, construction oversight including all necessary documentation, and the responsibility to create and maintain project costs within established budgets. The Construction Manager will also assist in identifying capital projects and assigning dollar amounts, and will interact with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure that all projects are completed in compliance with required codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree plus one-year construction management experience or high school diploma and three years of construction management experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of Federal, State, and local building codes and regulations; including but not limited to ADA, and NFPA Life Safety Code.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction projects to assure that design and building specifications, schedules, and budgets are achieved as agreed.
  • Assure that all Federal, State, and local building codes are followed during pre-construction and construction of projects.
  • Secure permits, certifications and file required paperwork for construction as required by Federal, State, and local codes.
  • Act as a liaison with architects, engineers and agency to assure design and construction project goals are met.
  • Review and monitor proposed plans and specifications to assure compliance with construction requirements.
  • Review and prepare project cost estimates to assure that each project meets specifications and budget requirements.
  • Prepare and administer contract documents as required for each project
  • Follow all department/agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide person centered individual attention to all consumers.
  • Follow safe operating procedures with regard to use of tools of the trade. This includes the use of knives and cutting devices in the course of work.
