About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Manager to join our Water Business Line - Construction Management team based out of San Diego or Riverside, California. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. The Construction Manager, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of construction inspection, construction field management, QA / QC and report documentation, on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, power generation, manufacturing facilities or other heavy construction projects. The Construction Manager will report to the Senior Construction Manager and/or Project Manager and provide regular updates on daily construction activities for their area of oversight.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of civil/utility field construction experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work year-round in varying weather conditions
  • Adapt to flexible shifts
  • Navigate active construction sites
  • Lift up to 40 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification a plus
  • OSHA 10 and Confined Space Entry training
  • Experience in general contracting and supporting civil construction inspection on small to large heavy civil projects, including municipal and building facility work.
  • Working knowledge of P6 scheduling and ability to review construction documents, track progress, and support project controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, perform mathematical calculations, and develop practical, innovative solutions to project challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize large volumes of information, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and inspect contractor work, perform punch list inspections, verify equipment and material installations, and identify deviations from contract documents while clearly communicating required corrections.
  • Prepare daily activity and progress reports, maintain payment quantity documentation, perform necessary calculations, and support contractor invoice and project schedule reviews.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards, monitor code compliance, and ensure all work aligns with drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Review submittits and construction documents, recommend technical solutions, attend and actively participate in construction, safety, and coordination meetings.
  • Track contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment) for field changes and time-and-material work, assist with negotiating field changes, and ensure adherence to Arcadis safety guidelines while coordinating specialized testing inspections.
