About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Manager to join our Water Business Line - Construction Management team based out of San Diego or Riverside, California. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. The Construction Manager, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of construction inspection, construction field management, QA / QC and report documentation, on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, power generation, manufacturing facilities or other heavy construction projects. The Construction Manager will report to the Senior Construction Manager and/or Project Manager and provide regular updates on daily construction activities for their area of oversight.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of civil/utility field construction experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work year-round in varying weather conditions
Adapt to flexible shifts
Navigate active construction sites
Lift up to 40 pounds

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred
CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification a plus
OSHA 10 and Confined Space Entry training
Experience in general contracting and supporting civil construction inspection on small to large heavy civil projects, including municipal and building facility work.
Working knowledge of P6 scheduling and ability to review construction documents, track progress, and support project controls.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, perform mathematical calculations, and develop practical, innovative solutions to project challenges.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize large volumes of information, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with teams.

Responsibilities

Observe and inspect contractor work, perform punch list inspections, verify equipment and material installations, and identify deviations from contract documents while clearly communicating required corrections.
Prepare daily activity and progress reports, maintain payment quantity documentation, perform necessary calculations, and support contractor invoice and project schedule reviews.
Maintain quality assurance standards, monitor code compliance, and ensure all work aligns with drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
Review submittits and construction documents, recommend technical solutions, attend and actively participate in construction, safety, and coordination meetings.
Track contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment) for field changes and time-and-material work, assist with negotiating field changes, and ensure adherence to Arcadis safety guidelines while coordinating specialized testing inspections.
