About The Position

Davenergy Solutions is seeking a full-time Construction Manager to serve as the Owner’s Representative at the Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare Systems (CAVHCS) in Tuskegee, AL. The Construction Manager will represent the Owner by providing onsite construction oversight, coordination, and quality assurance services for infrastructure upgrades and renovation work within an active medical campus environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in construction management, owner’s representation, or quality control/quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of commercial or healthcare construction practices
  • Familiarity with applicable building, safety, environmental, and life-safety codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with Government and contractor personnel
  • Proficiency with construction management and standard office software
  • Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
  • Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be prepared to encounter all construction site conditions, including noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and be physically capable of traversing sites with unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, roofs, and other mobility-challenging conditions.
  • Must possess the physical ability to take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout the course of construction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite inspections to verify construction work complies with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Monitor construction progress and report schedule, quality, and safety issues to the Government COR
  • Coordinate and track RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to support timely reviews
  • Identify constructability, sequencing, and coordination issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain daily field reports, inspection logs, deficiency lists, and progress documentation
  • Support commissioning activities and coordination with testing agencies
  • Assist with project closeout activities including punchlists, as-builts, warranties, and O&M documentation
